Their debut EP, Lappelectro's Closer Than They Appear fuses experimental elements of various influences including jazz, folk, and electronica. Their sound mixes loop based DJ culture and improvisation with a unifying goal to bridge the gap between the two. Daniel fronts this quartet by playing any one of nine instruments (including horns, strings, guitar and vocals). Daniel is accompanied by three virtuosic musicians, Rick May on bass, Danuel Tate on keys, and Ryan Stewart on drums. Together their innovative nature and improvisational capabilities push the limits of numerous diverse genres by fusing them together.

Daniel Lapp and Friends : REUNION

REUNION is the first fiddle album released by Canadian Multi-instrumentalist, Daniel Lapp. It features 10 of Daniel's original tunes as well as offering some unusual arrangements of a few old standards. At times, your toe will be tapping, but all of the music is not what one might expect from a 'fiddle' album. The genre is explored a step further with his unique 'folk trumpet' and with his 11 eclectic friends. These incude many well known names in the UK celtic/traditional music scene and all are musicians with whom Daniel has shared a tune or two on his travels over the last dozen years. Hence, it is a musical REUNION among friends old and new.

REUNION : The Fiddle Tune Book

Transcriptions of 22 original and traditional fiddle tunes taken from the REUNION CD. The tunes range from Beginner to Advanced and the manuscripts are complete with ornaments, chords and detailed bowings. Accompanying each tune is a written exposition of the inspiration behind the composition and a journal of the REUNION experience with Daniel and his 11 UK collaborators.

Daniel Lapp Quartet : Merry Chetmas

Drawing largely from the repertoire of Chet Baker, the Daniel Lapp Quartet plays many of the hits from Chet’s recordings while throwing in the occasional original tune. Songs like ‘My Funny Valentine’ and ‘Let’s Get Lost’ are regulars in the DLQ songbook along with Burt Bacharach’s ‘Close To You’ and Elvis Costello’s ‘Almost Blue’.
